FAQs

What is feasting?

Feasting is family-style serving: big, generous, sharable dishes, full of vibrant, beautiful food to be passed between small groups of guests. No fussy, dry chicken breast sitting inside an insipid mushroom sauce. Just boldly-flavoured dishes that everyone will return to for seconds.

What kind of food do you do?

To start, we like charcuterie platters with lots of bread and butter, big, beautiful tarts, whole melting camemberts with homemade pickles, or boards of homemade mezze. To follow, there’s normally some slow-roasted meat, alongside big bowls of tiny potatoes, and a rainbow of salads and vegetables. When it comes to puddings, think big dishes of tumbling meringues with roasted season fruit, tureens of boozy chocolate mousse, whole wibbling cheesecakes, and big jugs of homemade custard or bowls of really thick cream.

Can I see your menus?

We have sample menus that you can view here, and more seasonal sample menus on our wedding brochure, that you can access here. Every wedding we cater has a bespoke menu that we develop with the couple, so if there’s something you’d like at your wedding that you don’t see on our menus, just ask!

What kind of numbers can you cater for?

We’ve catered weddings for guest numbers from 12 to 250. We have tiered pricing, so there’s no minimum or maximum guest number.

How does it work on the day?

We’ll be in your venue kitchen as early as we can get in there, prepping your canapés and wedding breakfast. If it’s a venue that you have for the weekend, or a marquee or yurt in the field, we’ll have been there for at least a day already, beavering away, taking delivery of kitchen equipment and groceries.

When you arrive after the service, our gorgeous staff will be there waiting to serve you canapés and hand you glasses of fizz. Once you’re seated for the main event, we’ll serve you and your guests big, generous platters. If you’re using round tables, there may be one of each dish for per table, or if you’re seated on trestles, we will dot the dishes down the table at regular intervals. Guests can then serve themselves and each other, taking as much or as little as they want, passing dishes down the table, indulging in seconds if they fancy.

Can you run our bar?

We can! We’ve run bars at lots of weddings, and can quote you for a variety of services, from a champagne reception to cocktails. If you’re planning to have a pay bar at your wedding, we would also quote you for a temporary alcohol licence.

Can you accommodate my dietary requirements?

Absolutely! Gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, allergies – we’ll make it work.

We already have wedding caterers, but we’d like you to do our cake – is that possible?

Of course! You can look at some of our cakes here; send us an email or fill out the contact form to check our availability and get a quote.

Can we bring our own cake, if you’re catering our wedding?

Absolutely! If you bring your own cake (or stacked cheese cake) we’re happy to cut it up and serve it for you for a fee of £50. If you order a cake from us, there’s no cutting fee.

Our venue doesn’t have a kitchen – help!

We’ve built a ton of kitchens in unusual spaces: fields, church halls, garages, hilltops, museums… you name it, we’ve hooked up the water supply, and booted up a generator. We can guide you through the process, and help with logistics and problem-solving.

OK! I like your style! What happens now?

Once you’ve taken a look at our brochures and sample menus, and registered your interest in FEAST catering your wedding, we’ll chat to you via email or phone about how you see the food on your big day. We’ll get all the info we need from you to give you the wedding you want – from guests numbers to service style. If necessary at this stage, we’ll liaise with the venue to make sure that we’re the right fit for each other.

We’ll then start to work out a menu with you. If you’d like a tasting in London or in the Cotswolds, we can arrange this for you. We’ll organise any kitchen equipment hire, as well as crockery and serviceware, and take delivery of those items at your venue. We’re always on the end of the phone or available on email if you change your mind about the little details or want to chat through options with us. We also offer extra event management and bar services, if that’s something that would make your day smoother.
